Warrior Storyfield

It began in 2013, when two veterans asked an artist, “What’s Next?”

That conversation became the genesis of Warrior Storyfield – a monumental collaborative art project that stimulates powerful conversation about the experience of going to war and returning home.

The Story

After a dozen years, the mystery of “What’s Next?” for Warrior Storyfield remains. The project is nearing completion and the sculptures may move from the founder’s backyard to a more permanent home. This has prompted valuable reflection on what it has meant to those involved and how the wisdom of the Warrior Storyfield experience can be maintained with integrity as it is shared with a wider audience.

Purple Mountain Pictures is preparing to produce a full-length documentary about the Warrior Storyfield experience. Audiences will have the opportunity to witness the power of the creative process and expression and see for themselves what coming home from war truly looks like.

SUPPORT THE FILM

The film will take about a year to complete and will cost approximately $400,000.

Financing a documentary is never easy, but it’s essential and we need your help.  We are actively pursuing grants, sponsorships and other support.  But these take time and the story is unfolding now.

We’re counting on those who believe in the power of art, who honor the service and sacrifice of veterans and their families, and who value education as a bridge to understanding to provide the support we need.

Your contribution will help pay for the research, the production team and the equipment, for editing and post production and the many, many costs in between.

The Boulder County Arts Alliance is the 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor for this documentary project. Please make your contribution to BCAA or mail a check to BCAA at the address below, citing the project (Warrior Storyfield Documentary) in the memo line. You will be provided a tax receipt for the charitable gift.

Much like the story itself, this is a collaborative effort. Together, we can bring these voices, this art, and this vision into the world where it may heal, connect, and inspire.
